MADELINE'S PERSONAL DIARY
April 7, 2001:
This was a huge day for me. I finally took a huge leap forward and went out in public for the first
time as Madeline. Even though it was just to return a video, fill up on gas, and withdraw money
from the MAC, I was still a bundle of nerves the whole time. I didn't talk with anyone but I was
among several people and didn't elicite any stares from them. I guess that means I was passable. I
may have even looked pretty good. When I finally got home, I was so relieved but also
disappointed that it was over. This experience was a big confidence builder. Hopefully this is just
the beginning. I can't wait to go out again.
